What's in a name? Well if you're Mark Zuckerberg - everything. The Founder of Facebook announced this evening that the social media corporation, which also owns Whatsapp and Instagram would be re-named Meta, and that Facebook would become just one app in what he called a Metaverse - a new digital world.
But this is no ordinary rebranding. From online hate speech and abuse, to White Nationalism, the storming of the United States Capitol building, Covid denial and anti-vaxxers - the company has been linked to a host of controversies.
Will this name change anything?
