A version of the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation applicable to buffers consisting of a weak base and the salt of its conjugate base is derived in a color-coded and step-by-step manner. Parallels between the traditional form used for weak acids, and this form for weak bases, are demonstrated. A useful relationship between pH and pOH, as well as pKa and pKb, is derived as well.
