In this video I talk about "The Next Best Thing" comic books. Are they good investments? One of the things we notice with comic collectors is that if they can't afford the 1st appearance of their favorite super hero, they will often move to the next best thing. These can be first solo titles, origin stories or 2nd appearances. In this video I go over a few comics that I noticed to be some of the most highly transacted comic books on the market and compare these next best thing comics to their 1st appearance counter parts. I think what you will find is that often times these comic books can yield a higher return on your investment. Which can be a nice strategy to mitigated your risk. Obviously comics are highly speculative and its very possible to loose some money, so if you can target books that are lower buy ins, they might be a better strategy for some collectors.
