~ What is Prelude NorCal? ~

Rooted in the Bay Area, Prelude NorCal Urban Dance Competition strives to be a dance competition that unites all types of dancers from the country’s different urban dance communities through competition in a community environment. Prelude NorCal has grown to be a highly anticipated event that also kickstarts the competitive fall season for many urban dance teams, and has been considered a widely successful competition through its focus on community and its partnership with Main Stacks, UC Berkeley’s premiere competitive urban dance team, since 2010.

This year, various teams from San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, and even Chicago (and many more) will be coming to Prelude to compete + perform! In addition to the competition event, Prelude NorCal is also hosting events prior to the competition, such as a pre-party event at Level 13 in Oakland and the Prelude NorCal Roadshow Workshop Series, a community collaboration series of dance workshops between Prelude NorCal, Main Stacks, and various Bay Area teams!
