Poly finishes do dampen acoustic guitars sound. ESPECIALLY on the high B and E string. You really don't want that type of finish if you want the guitar to fully resonate. Why encase a guitar in a thick plastic shell?? The instrument makes sound from the wood vibrating! Do you want your guitar to sound dead and muted or clear and crisp???
