We've all seen that sphere diagram when learning how to paint or draw light and shadow. But one thing that never occurred to me was "why is the core shadow a thing?"

And when I dug a little deeper, it made complete sense and was one of those key 'aha' moments that helped me get a greater understanding of how to paint light, specifically from imagination.
