April was Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month. As the state chapter for Prevent Child Abuse America, Kansas Children’s Service League (KCSL) coordinates the CAP Month campaign each year in Kansas to build awareness, provide education, organize activities and lead advocacy efforts to prevent the abuse and neglect of children. Governor Laura Kelly signed the state proclamation for CAP Month on March 29 and resolutions were signed by the Kansas Senate and House of Representatives April 2 along with several other awareness events statewide. More than 30 Pinwheels for Prevention pinwheel gardens were planted statewide. Thank you to all who help make #GreatChildhoods happen with simple, everyday actions. Although CAP Month is over, we invite you to join us in making child abuse and neglect prevention a priority year-round.
