Welcome to “Prime” hosted by Charles Blow.
Tomorrow will be the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks that took the lives of almost 3,000 innocent people and led to a 20-year war in Afghanistan.
The Homeland Security Act was signed into law by then President George W. Bush a year after 9/11, and it formed the Department of Homeland Security which had a primary mission of protecting the U.S. from foreign terrorist attacks.
According to a recent survey, only 30% of Americans believe that they are safer now than before 9/11. Blow spoke with former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson about the safety of Americans.
All this and more on “Prime.”
