Sensor Size
It all depends on what’s most important to you. In general, the larger the sensor the better the image quality because it can acquire more light, generates less noise, and can create a shallower depth of field which is preferred my many for portraiture work and fashion but not so much for Street Photography.
However, a smaller sensor allows added reach (zoom). For example, on a micro 4/3 sensor, which is has a crop factor of two compared to a full frame sensor, a 200mm lens becomes the equivalent of a 400mm lens. Smaller sensors also allow for an overall more compact camera and lens system, which is convenient for travel and long hikes etc so that’s why I carry my phone more these days as phone technology has improved.
Smaller sensor cameras are generally less expensive as small sensors are cheaper than large.
I tend to go for 1.6 Crop APSC for street photography these days.
Full frame and medium format are a nightmare if you shoot landscape and change lenses a lot outdoors. The dust and pollen can be a real pain. Once you get a full frame or medium format camera you soon learn how to clean your own sensor especially in the summer ! It’s not so bad in the winter !
It really is down to what you want to carry around what you can afford and what your output is mostly.
I do have a project idea for MF but really can’t be dealing with cleaning sensors every five minutes. I think we need a MF X100 they could call it the X1000 !
