Two days before the 10th anniversary of the September the 11th attacks, Afghanistan is remembering a man considered by many as a national hero.
Military leader Ahmad Shah Massoud was murdered on September the 9th, 2001.
As head of the Northern Alliance of ethnic minorities, Massoud was the man who many believed would liberate Afghanistan from the Taliban.
He was murdered by militants posing as journalists and believed to have been alligned with the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. They detonated a bomb hidden in a video camera.
