We recently had the chance to see the beautiful Hakka houses in the province of Fujian in China.
A UNESCO World Heritage site, these unique Chinese residential buildings built by Hakka people back between the 12th and 20th centuries.
Built in either round or square shapes (aka roundhouses), these clustered walled villages could house up to 80 families and were built to enable stronger defence purposes.
Flying into Xiamen, the journey to the Fujian (Yongding) took 3 hours each way by car (that was arranged by the hotel/inn we were staying at).
Not only have these buildings held up incredibly well, but the architecture was simply remarkable and the food there was yummy too! Definitely worth visiting and really nice to be in such a serene environment too!
Let me know if you’ve had the chance to visit or what you thought of this video!
