When unlucky-in-love Sabrina Watson (Paula Patton) literally bumps into the man of her dreams, Jason Taylor (Laz Alonso), the mutual attraction is instant.

They're clearly the perfect couple. So it's not long before Jason gets down on bended knee and proposes marriage. With a wedding on the glamorous island of Martha's Vineyard in prospect, the couple are looking forward to the most memorable day of their lives.

Trouble is, it might prove to be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Sabrina's family are 'uptown' types, while Jason's are decidedly 'downtown'. And it's not long before the clash of cultures between Mrs Watson (Angela Bassett) and Mrs Taylor (Loretta Devine) threatens to spill over into open warfare.

Named after the tradition of the bride and groom jumping over a broom after their wedding, this is a warm-hearted comedy of class warfare at the altar.
