My Dubbed Scud is one of my best scud patterns when trout are focused on small, less than size 12, scuds. It is a simple pattern that is easy to tie. I most often fish this pattern on a hover or clear intermediate line and a choppy brisk hand twist or 1-2 inch, fast-paced, strip retrieve. Brisk retrieves work well as this helps the Dubbed Scud stand out amongst the natural scuds.
