Sugar rush possum style: This male possum is always looking for a treat. After it eats some apple, I hand-feed it some honey out of a bowl. Reluctant at first, as soon as it discovers the container has honey in it - a light goes on inside the Australian possum as it licks the honey out of the container enjoying a sugar rush.
The possum is named 'Ned' and is a 'common brushtail (Brushy) possum'. It is a wild animal, not a pet possum. Always exercise caution when feeding wildlife as possums bite, and some foods are not good for them. As possums can find honey in the wild made by native Australian bees I guess honey is fine to feed a possum in small amounts, though you can observe it experience a sugar rush.
