The finishing touches are under way to complete a new £10 million Integrated Diagnostic Centre.
This is being built at South Tyneside District Hospital.
It will help us carry out checks on patients across our area.
The centre will have two MRI scanners and two CT scanners.
This video show the day when the MRI scanners were delivered to the South Shields site.
The centre will also have our first permanent PET-CT scanner.
This help is diagnose cancer and other illnesses and conditions and will help our patients have their check closer to home.
