The three main pieces (last three) were chosen from the 21/22 ABRSM syllabus. See below for mark sheet comments on each piece and the performance as a whole.

1. Beethoven: Presto alla tedesca (1st mov. from Sonata in G)
This was paced very effectively with a driving impetus. There was only a limited sense of variation in the sound and dynamic, and there were slight errors towards the end at one point. Very accurate, secure and played at tempo but without all the detail.
Mark: 26/30.

2. Schubert: Impromptu in Ab (No. 2 from Four Impromptus, Op. 142, D.935)
The hands were coordinated and balanced musically, and the phrases had clarity with some effective shaping and contrast. All was very secure and even with the sense of style and character projected successfully and the pacing suitably flexible.
Mark: 27/30.

3. Debussy: Reverie
This flowed easily, although there was scope for some poise and pointing in the phrasing in addition to the rhythmic flexibility used. However, a very musical and clear account nevertheless played with a balance and sense of style throughout.
Mark: 28/30.

4. Mozart: Andante grazioso and Vars. 1-6 (1st mov. from Sonata in A, K.331)
This was poised in the pacing both in parts of the phrase but also between movements. There was scope for a more lyrical tone and shaping, and there were brief moments of unevenness, but overall this was a musical rendition which was secure and accurate, despite a minor breakdown towards the end.
Mark: 26/30.

5. Performance as a whole.
The technical delivery was quite assured throughout, although there was scope for greater development and utilization of the interpretive detail with regard to tonal contrast and shaping. The programme pacing was rather rushed between items, and there was only a limited sense of communication with "the audience".
Mark: 24/30.
