On November 19, 2019, officers responded to Grady Hospital regarding a theft call. A hospital employee advised his wallet and iPad had been stolen from a secure room inside the hospital. A cleaning cart was found inside the room and the employee advised that janitorial staff never come into the secured room. A review of hospital security cameras found a male pushing a cleaning cart through the hospital. Security staff determined the male did not work at the hospital.
The next day, officers learned Thomas Miller had been arrested for loitering inside another hospital just outside our jurisdiction. Officers were able to positively identify Miller as the same male involved in the theft at Grady Hospital. Warrants were secured, charging Miller with theft and prowling. Officers also learned the male had multiple previous arrests, including charges of robbery. The APD is happy that this suspect has been arrested and is off the streets.
