Katie is a community support worker with Groundwork, the community charity with a green heart. Locally led initiatives are usually far more effective than projects that are implemented from the top down, but community groups often need support to put them into practice. This is the role of a community enabler like Katie, who will provide practical advice on funding sources, project management, connecting partners and getting groups up and running. With this support community groups can get on with creating effective projects that provide better neighbourhoods, help people into work, bring people together and create a greener future.
