Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2 is a survival horror video game that serves as a sequel to Resident Evil Outbreak and marks the final installment of the spinoff game series. The game was initially released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan on September 9, 2004, followed by North America on April 26, 2005, and Europe on August 26, 2005.

After the success of Outbreak in Japan, Capcom announced File #2 in late 2004. The game features the same eight characters from the first title, with similar abilities, and is set in a zombie-infested Raccoon City. The game offers five new scenarios, with the first four being playable from the start. In Japan, pre-ordered editions of the game were bundled with a demo of Devil May Cry 3.

On January 1, 2014, alternate fan servers were opened to the public, allowing for online play once again, along with new additions to the server such as banlists and leaderboards.
