This is how our tech's push started a 2003 Yamaha YZ450F:
Warning: You will want to make sure you have someone helping you push start a dirt bike. This is to ensure safety.
- Put the bike in neutral
- Push the bike until you're able to hop on and still be rolling
- Once you're on the bike, you will want to pop the clutch by holding the clutch lever down, dropping it in gear, and then letting go of the clutch lever.
- You will want to feather the throttle as you're popping the clutch and it should make an attempt to start.
Watch the video as this will give you a visual of the steps necessary to push start a dirt bike.
