Following on from the successful series of tank hunters known as Panzerjager, the Germans tried to solve some of their shortcomings. By fully enclosing the crew compartment and adding more armour and even bigger guns, these vehicles became a key part of the German armoured forces in the later years of the war. But why did they make of them at the same time? And why make 2800 of one and barely 80 of another?
