Nguyen Bui Mong Thu passed away peacefully in her Kissimmee, FL home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. She was born in a small village in Vietnam (Làng Lợi Bình Nhơn, Huyện Thủ Thừa - Long An, Việt Nam), and made her way to the big city Saigon at the mere age of 18. At 35, she migrated to mighty America, the land of freedom and opportunity, to start a new life. Hardworking and determined, Mong Thu established her own successful alteration business in Avondale, Georgia by the age of 37, and owned a beautiful home in scenic Stone Mountain.
An accomplished seamstress, a loving mother, a caring wife, and a devout Buddhist, Mong Thu enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, strolling through her beautiful neighborhood, and carefully tending her prize-winning garden. Her kind heart and compassion was well known to strangers and loved ones alike.
She is survived by her husband, Long Nguyen, of 49 years, her four children-Kimphung Ngo (Dr. Thang Ngo), Kimduyen Nguyen (Phillip Ta Nguyen), Ky Y Nguyen (Lan Phuong Nguyen), and Kimuyen Trinh (Dr. Nicholas Trinh)-and her six beloved grandchildren: Josephine Ngo, Katherine Ngo, Cassica Nguyen, Hunter Trinh, Kyann Nguyen, and Anabelle Nguyen. She is dearly missed by her brothers and sisters, and all of her relatives, across America and in Làng Lợi Bình Nhơn, Huyện Thủ Thừa - Long An, Việt Nam.
