Thailand is being hit by a brutal spike in dengue infections, with more than double the number of deaths compared to the whole of last year. Some 26,000 cases have been reported so far this year, and 41 people have died. Experts attribute the rise in numbers partly to enhanced screening efforts that allow for more cases to be reported.
