“The naming of this building is our way of ensuring that their stories are now and forever a part of our institution’s history.” – President Jere W. Morehead.
Black-Diallo-Miller Hall was named in honor of Harold Alonza Black, Mary Blackwell Diallo and Kerry Rushin Miller, the first African American students to enroll as freshmen in 1962 and complete their undergraduate degrees at UGA.
These notable Black alumni have made significant contributions to society since graduating from the University of Georgia. UGA hopes to honor their legacy and set an example for our entire community through this naming.
