Chester is a rescue weasel currently living in an outdoor enclosure in my garden. Last week was only the second time he experienced snow. Just look at him diving in and out of the deep drifts!

Chester's story
Chester is now seven months old. He was found alone when just a tiny kit and gets his name from a rendezvous garage in Chesterfield, where one of my colleagues collected him before driving him up here to be cared for.
Weasel rescue
I am experienced at raising weasels and successfully releasing them into the wild. This is not an easy thing to do and over the years I have learned how to help these tiny creatures adapt to a life in the wild. Read how my journey began with a tiny weasel named Twiz: [ Ссылка ].
Chester's last blast
Chester is now ready to go out into the wider world, but I have kept him in my bespoke, outdoor enclosure during the latest cold weather. I will wait until the temperatures outside are a little warmer before I release him. This will give him the best chance of survival.
Snow fun
In the meantime, he's enjoying himself. Last week the enclosure was covered in a foot of snow and I don't think this tiny weasel could quite get over the fun of its transformation. My cameras caught him popping in and out of his usual hidey-holes - giving new meaning to the expression 'Pop Goes the Weasel'!
