This is a full body beginner yin yoga class with a yin yoga sequence that covers why we stress or apply tension to our connective tissues, ligaments, joint capsules and bones when we practice yin yoga. While our muscles respond well to repetitive rhythmic movement and heat up when exercised, our connective tissues on the other hand respond best when they remain cool Connective tissue needs slow gentle, contraction, in fact, it is dangerous to apply the repetitive rhythmic movements that are healthy for our yang muscles to our yin connective tissues.
There are four reasons to stress our connective tissue that we will cover in detail in this yin yoga class: prevent contracture, prevent degeneration, reduce fixation and improve joint hydration.
