🧰 When working alone, leverage and little tricks are your friends.

In this case, installing a deck ledger board, I snug a 5/16 x 6-inch Spax PowerLag between the top of the foundation wall and mudsill to hold my ledger board on either end.

On one end it serves both as a stay, so the board remains at the proper height. It is also a fulcrum that enables me to use leverage to lift the heavy board into place.
