Xentuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to insulin-like growth factor (IGF) ligands IGF-1 and IGF-2 with high affinity. This inhibits downstream IGF signalling that would otherwise result in cell growth, proliferation and survival. Xentuzumab has been well tolerated in Phase I clinical trials, and further studies are ongoing to investigate xentuzumab in combination with other therapies in a variety of cancers.
