Rule Of Thumb ..
Always demand seeing your cb, 10/11 meter radio and linear amplifier / non linear amplifier, no matter what the class, powered up and on a 100Mhz (min) Scope and Spectrum Analyzer / Service Monitor. An Actual Test Bench That Displays Real Power Is The Only Way To Measure Spurious Emissions, Harmonics And True Power @ The Fundamental Frequency (usable power in the real world)!! Only showing volts, amps and jacked up "Happy Watts" on a Bird or Dosy Meter is only an illusion and an insult to your intelligence ... leaving your pocket more shallow and them laughing all the way to the bank. TSK-TSK
Most important, make sure that they display ... in clear view ... all at the same time ... the signal coming out of the radio that is "driving the amplifier" or other stages, it's carrier, fully modulated carrier and final stage output on a real bench. You need to see each stage individually no exceptions, if they have a problem with that ... find someone that is "legitimate" and not a shyster, you'll thank me later.
