An important but much overlooked aspect of the WWI Australian Light Horse uniform is addressed in this video for our 'Instructional' Light Horse series. 'Beware the slouch hat kangaroo feathers' should be sufficient explanation. No further description required other than in WWI the Australian Light Horse troopers told locals in the Middle East that the feathers in their slouch hats were from kangaroos. Would they fib?
