I've only ever used Nmap for port scanning because its reliable, it works and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Rustscan grabbed my interest though. Its capable of scanning all 65,000 ports in seconds. It features a robust scripting engine supporting python, lua and shell allowing for seamless integration with Nmap and custom scripts for advance analysis.
