The UN Global Compact CEO Water Mandate, in partnership with the Pacific Institute, International Water Management Institute, Alliance for Global Water Adaptation, and World Resources Institute (WRI), have embarked on a journey to develop a globally accepted Water Resilience Assessment Framework to support a consistent and coherent multi-stakeholder approach to understanding and building resilience through water systems at local, regional, and basin scales.
This session will present a corporate-level guide to resilience assessment and provide a high-level snapshot of resilience thinking in system design, operation, and maintenance. Further exploration of the key components in the framework specific to the application by the businesses will be undertaken. Participants will hear from companies and practitioners who have been part of the journey in developing this innovative framework, and learn the steps a business can take to understand and invest in water resilience. This is an interactive session designed in three parts: part I provides an overview of the WRAF methodology and implementation of the WRAF using corporate guidance; part 2 is a moderated panel discussion with the experts and practitioners in this field; and finally, part III is designed for a highly interactive Q&A session among participants and speakers.
