Puli inji is a very traditional dish of Kerala usually served as a side dish in banana leaf during sadya occasions like Onam, Vishu etc.
It is a spicy and tangy pickle type dish with the mild sweetness of jaggery which makes its taste so unique and I think it definitely will be a favourite of every malayalees...
Ingredients
Tamarind – Lemon sized
Water – 1 Cup
Ginger (Finely Chopped) – ½ Cup
Oil – 4 Tbs
Green Chilli (Finely Chopped) – 2Nos.
Turmeric Powder – ½ Ts
Red Chilli Powder – 2 Ts
Jaggery – 1 Tbs
Salt – 1 Ts
Mustard seeds – ¾ Ts
Red Chilli – 2 Nos.
