In this video, I am going to discuss canola oil. Our story begins with a rapeseed plant. These plants produce a bright yellow flower and pods which contain black colored seeds.
These seeds contain about 48% oil, and they are harvested, then sent to a processing factory where the oil is removed.
Canola oil has 7% saturated, 63% monounsaturated, 28% polyunsaturated fat levels and contains vitamin e.
most canola is genetically engineered, in fact, over 90% of it. If its not organic, then it has probably been exposed to chemicals during the processing phase, and the oil may contain some trace amounts of those chemicals.
Bottom line, this oil has a couple of benefits , mainly in that it is higher in omega 3 fatty acids, and low in saturated fat. Just make sure you are consuming organic canola oil that hasn't been exposed to any chemicals during processing.
