This mixer is excellent! I used this on a tin of Revell enamel paint. I bought this paint only recently, but you can see it has completely separated. It's probably been in storage for a while. If I tried to solve this by shaking the tin by hand, or stirring with a spoon or stirrer, I doubt I would get a properly mixed paint.
If you pause at around the 3-5 second mark, you'll see something really cool. The lid of these paints is embossed with the part number. In this case, "MATT 15". I guess this tin must've been stored upside down at some point, because you can actually see that code indented into the surface of the pigment!
At around the 9 second mark, I poke it with a matchstick, and you can see it's very obviously separated. It looks like I'm poking into a sad egg yolk.
The mixer is very easy to operate. Once you get the hang of the angle to use, mixing is easy. You apply pressure directly from the top, but you can also angle it, depending on the shape of the paint container.
It sounds much louder than it is, because I'm holding my phone close to the unit. The vibrations are very strong. Nearby items on the table shake when I operate this device.
You can see that it doesn't take long at all to get the paint mixed. The result was a beautifully smooth paint. No inconsistencies in texture or pigmentation.
I've tested this device with other paints, mostly Vallejo game colour, model colour, and model air. It has produced excellent results, every time. One very recalcitrant paint needed a minute's mixing time. Most only needed ten to twenty seconds.
I'm very happy with this paint mixer! Mixing paint has become a breeze.
I purchased it at Amazon, but I'm sure you can find it elsewhere too.
