***name change from the title because I guess there already is a fly called that. It’s a caddis emerger, but well call it the Barely Afloat just for fun***
A quick tie to fill your box next to your go to dries. I oversize the wing a bit to help it ride on top like a dangling trout snack. A little bit of flash on the bend to imitate the last remains of the shuck and the gold tinsel ribbing to draw some attention, like hey come and get it. I usually put a drop or two of floatant on this guy to help it out. I don’t really change the body color or the ribbing, but one could always use a different color of elk hair or even deer hair. Tie some up and fish them.
