Lyrics: (Sorta)
Give me a second I,
I need to give my brain a break
My teacher's in the hallway thinking how to give some lower grades
My mother's been on my case about this laziness
My years been full of so much stress__ leaving quite a mess, and
I know I should put some effort forth
I know you want me to learn
But between the work and drama queens
The tests and all the study sheets, you know
I'm trying hard to do my best
So if by the time my mind closes
And i feel like shutting down
can you help me learn?
Cuz calculus
is not fun
so let's set the books on fire
it's my desire, and im done
Right now
I don't know
how exactly to derive
so I stay alive not in woe
--
The teacher walks through the door,
said we were learning some more
like the simple Chain Rule,
and my jaw just dropped
I'd trade my lunch for a clue,
maybe a tutor will do
then this girl walked through
and she explained like this
just simply derive,
both the out and inside
then multiply by both sides
and you've basically got it!
Hey, I just learned how
to do the Chain Rule,
it's pretty catchy,
yet still sketchy
you substitute "u"
for the inner function
then derive the outside
and that's the Chain Rule
but you're not done yet
you still multiply
by u's derivative
for that's the chain rule
like sin(x2)
you can do
with the chain rule,
since you know how to
you use "u" for x2,
then derive sine right there
and multiply by 2x
since that's how "u" derives
then plug "u" back in
before you come to an end
2xcos(x2)
is the answer
now you're quite excited
don't even try to hide it
prime inner times prime of outer
now you understand the chain rule
now let's do one more
just to be sure
you fully understand,
and its not a blur
(x2+2x)
all cubed
looks somewhat tricky
but not really
"u" would be this
X2+2x
and bring the three out
so now its squared
so now you have 3
times "u" squared
so now derive "u"
and get 2x plus 2
before you knew what to do
it seemed complex
so complex
so so so complex
but just remember to derive
In terms of "x"
don't forget
or you'll mi-iss it
3 times x2
plus 2x
is all squared
times 2x plus 2
And that's the answer
As you can see
now do the Chain Rule
without me
but don't forget,
all these rules
you'll need these tools
for the Chain Rule
