Dr. David Palombo: This lecture will report a case of a severe endo-periodontal lesion in a periodontitis patient, which has been treated with a combined resective and regenerative approach, performed with the help of the surgical microscope.


The lecture will describe the management of endo-periodontal lesions within the treatment sequence of a periodontitis patient, and the surgical procedure of an apically positioned flap with resective osseous surgery, a root amputation, and the immediate reconstruction of the alveolar ridge at the post-extractive site.

Clinical videos from the surgical microscope will be shown to describe the step by step procedure from the direct view of the surgeon.

The final restorative phase of treatment will also be discussed, and results at a 1 year follow-up will be presented.
