Aloo Matar Pulao Recipe

Serves 2
1.5 cups basmati rice rinsed & soaked for 20 mins
Heat pressure cooker, add 2 tbsp ghee, 2 bay leaves, 2 green elaichi, 1 black cardamom, 1 cinnamon stick, 4-5 peppercorns. Saute for a minute, then add 1 tsp jeera, a pinch of asafoetida and 1 medium sized onion sliced thinly. Cook till it turns golden brown, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste. Cook till its raw aroma disappears. Then add 1 finely chopped tomato along with 1tsp salt. Cook till it turns mushy. Once it releases ghee, add 2 slit green chillies, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp dhaniya powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder & 1/2 tsp haldi. Cook for a minute & then add in 1-2 potatoes cut in cubes and 1 small cup green peas. Add 1 cup water & mix. Add in the basmati rice, coriander leaves garnish. Cover cooker lid & cook for 3 whistles. Aloo Matar Pulao is ready! Serve with chilled raita/curd.
