Hey there, did you know that Nike's iconic swoosh logo was created by a design student for just $35?
That's right, Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student at Portland State University, was commissioned by Nike's co-founder, Phil Knight, to design a logo for his new company back in 1971.
Apparently, Knight wasn't too impressed with the original design, but he still paid Davidson $35 for her work. Hey, at least she got something, right?
Little did he know that her creation would go on to become one of the most recognizable logos in the world. I mean, who doesn't have a pair of Nike shoes or at least a t-shirt with that swoosh on it?
So next time you see that swoosh, remember the story of how it all began with a design student and a $35 check.
