With around 6000 islands seemingly scattered by the Gods themselves, proper postcard surroundings and the azure Mediterranean waters, it is safe to say that Greece is any sailor’s dream destination. From calm winds in the more protected areas to rough open sea sailing, Greece brings you exciting new experiences every day.
You will discover picturesque villages with great local hospitality and experience the friendly atmosphere of the everyday Greek island life. Listen to the whispers of the ancient heroes, dance the sirtaki and indulge yourself in the famous Greek cuisine with specialities such as souvlaki, mousakka and kleftiko.
If you are planning a shorter one-week charter, we do recommend you to focus on a specific area of your likings since the distances are fairly long. A two-week holiday will of course give you the opportunity to explore more of the Greek wonders, but it also allows you to spend some extra time in your favourite spots.
The ideal time to sail around the Greek islands is from April to October with the high season stretching from June until the end of September. Needless to say is that these are the warmest and busiest months. In case you are seeking for some more peace and quiet, the before and after high season weather is still very pleasant and there are fewer visitors.
When chartering a bareboat without staff, Navigare Yachting will provide you with a unique service phone for emergencies and technical assistance. Whether you are experiencing yacht related issues or if you would like to reserve a restaurant for the evening our base managers will be happy to assist you.
