How to silence the open hatch beep / alarm on 5th generation Subaru Outbacks. This will probably work for other Subarus and cars as well.

I've used this method several times on my 2017 Outback Limited 3.6R with success. It has the powered gate.

This is great when hauling items that don't allow the hatch to fully close.

Just push the gate down to the height you want, flip the lock and you're good.

When you push any of the "open hatch" buttons, the gate will unlock and raise. When it reaches the top it will think hit an object, beep then come back down. This is normal as it will find it's limits and reset.
