Bertold Salomon was born as son of a winegrowers family in Krems Austria.
After High School he studied International Business at WU University in Vienna and graduated
With a Ph D degree.

Afterwards he continued his studies at the Business School of the New York University and worked as trainee at New Chateau & Estate Wines in New York.
In 1982 he moved back to Austria and was in charge of marketing at „Freie Weingärtner Wachau“
and then became member of the board of Schlumberger wineries.
From 1995 till 2002 he was appointed CEO of the Austrian Wine Marketing Association.

In 2002 he took over the family winery „Salomon Undhof“ and bought also a wineyard in Finniss ,Australia.
