Full playthrough of all Age of Mythology campaigns in Titan difficulty. I played the original Age of Mythology game instead of the Extended Edition because some levels are broken in the new version.

For instance, in "The Jackal's Stronghold" the enemy simply doesn't know how to land troops in the player's base. In "Cerberus" (The Titans), the Atlantean enemy AI doesn't develop its base, trivializing a map that would be quite challenging otherwise.

The original games don't have a few quality of life upgrades, like the villager counter per resource and hotkeys for actions like "unload troops" or "patrol", but it's still fun to play nonetheless.

I know it's possible to rush most of the levels and complete the objetives in mere minutes, but I chose to beat most of them throughly, for the added challenge.

This level is time consuming, but it's possible to thoroughly defeat the greeks by denying them access to the upper plateau. That's where they'll retreat to when losing their military buildings.

The first thing to do is claim the west greek village before them. Should this fail, it's likely the player will run out of gold mines and the short trade route won't be enough to sustain a large army to push them back. Victory will still be possible to achieve, but it'll likely take over one hour to do so.

The enemy build is random. Most of the time the greeks will favor infantry and archers, which is why this level is somewhat hard. The atlantean cavalry has horrible hack and pierce armor, so they aren't reliable against massed Toxotes. But rarely, they'll go for Hippikons and Prodromos instead of Hoplites and Hypaspists. If that happens they will be considerably easier to counter.

The greek forward base is a different "player" with it's own population limit and AI, that only trains Hoplites and Hypaspists. So it's likely the player will have to face two armies at once at some point during the course of the game.

My strategy for beating this level is fully upgrading Contarii with Theia's bonuses and going straight for the greeks important buildings, while taking control of the high ground. Victory comes swiftly after denying them the means of replenishing lost troops.
