On Sept 5, a massive explosion was reported in the vicinity of the Russian Embassy in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul. According to the Russian embassy, two of its embassy staff died in the 'suicide blast'. Afghan police said earlier that a suicide bomber had detonated explosives near the entrance to the Russian Embassy. As per reports, at least 15-20 people died in the blast, adding that armed guards shot the attacker dead. The country has been witnessing back-to-back bomb blasts since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in mid-August 2021
