The pro-China CTiTV has suffered a court defeat in its fight to keep its news station on the air. On Monday, a Taipei court rejected its request for an injunction that would have let CTi News continue operating after its license expires on Friday.
CTiTV requested the injunction after the National Communications Commission decided not to renew its license. In a statement, the Taipei court said it didn''t see how the NCC''s decision could cause the company "unrecoverable damage or urgent harm." CTiTV has expressed anger and disappointment at the ruling, saying it would file for an appeal.
