The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the most iconic and feared creatures of the ocean. Known for their massive size and powerful jaws filled with razor-sharp teeth, great white sharks are apex predators that can grow up to 6 meters (20 feet) in length and weigh over 2,000 kilograms (4,400 pounds).

Despite their fearsome reputation, great white sharks are not indiscriminate killers. They feed mainly on fish, seals, and sea lions, and attacks on humans are relatively rare. In fact, humans are more of a threat to great white sharks than the other way around, as they are often hunted for their fins and teeth.

Recently, a great white shark was discovered that could potentially be the largest ever recorded. The massive female shark, named "Deep Blue," was estimated to be around 6 meters (20 feet) long and was captured on film off the coast of Mexico.
