Roller skate recommendations in different price ranges based on personal experience
Candi Grl
Pros
They are usually $99
Excellent boot construction, very comfortable
Cons
Cheap plates
The toe stop isn’t adjustable.
Those cheap plates rattle and feel terrible on the shins for any distance/commuting skating.
The plates are fine for people just learning. I wouldn’t recommend stalling in them or learning to slide/grind. They will break with too much stress.
I figured out an affiliate link!

Candi Grl (Colors: Black, Blue/Burgandy, Green/Blue, Peach/Pink): [ Ссылка ]
VNLA Parfait: [ Ссылка ]
$159
Pros
Vegan
Adjustable toe stop
The boot is on the stiffer side for ankle support but still super comfortable
Padded well
Cons
Newer released skates
I would buy new wheels and better bearings (not a deal breaker though)
Chaya Melrose Elite: [ Ссылка ]
$189 (not to be confused with the Chaya Melrose that’s $149)
Pros
Great beginner skate, the boot is on the stiffer side for ankle support but still super comfortable and good mobility. I usually don’t recommend beginner skates because after the first three months in them, you grow out of them and need something that doesn’t restrict your movement. But I would definitely buy these skates. I can dance in them comfortably yet feel supported while bombing a hill.
Cons
Boot material scratches easily
Moxi Lolly: [ Ссылка ]
Pros
Comfortable
Superb all around skate
Trail skate/Commuting/Dancing/Skate park
Will last a very long time
Cons
Due to the pandemic, the price increased from $299 to $349 so that shattered my heart.
After trying on the Melrose Elite and the VNLA Parfait, I honestly don’t recommend any skates in the over $200 range for beginners.
