How I do my gridding, in this case on 25 count evenweave (Lugana).
I'm using the Royal Rows technique so I grid some extra blocks for parking. To learn more about this technique, see @RoyalStitcher

The WIP I'm working on is Her Majesty in the Afternoon by Gina Matarazzo, chartered by HAED.
At the very start mark just a few blocks on the stitching area and if you're parking some extra. Add more as stitching progresses, making lines a bit longer then the blocks. When working in Royal Row's on any new row, count 2 blocks down and extend the grid lines as you go.
The pen I use is a 0,5 Pilot FriXion pen. Lines can be removed by using friction or heat. So using a hairdryer or an iron will remove the gridding.
