Just showing off our redneck lil flatlap built from an evaporative cooler motor. 1/2 HP 1725 RPM. I've been using variations on this build for the past few years and its worked pretty well for me, although sometimes its a little aggressive when working with smaller or softer stones. Having a gearing/belt system would probably be ideal to lessen the rpm and also put distance between the electrical motor wiring and the water tray.
We mostly use diamond flat lap discs (such as [ Ссылка ]) and will put silicon carbide adhesive stickers on either the underside or on old used up discs. I didn't show in this video but getting a pack of them can be nice, although they grind away rather quickly, they naturally kind of step you through to a higher prepolish just by getting worn down. ([ Ссылка ])
Otherwise make use of old felt and carpet or whatever to glue onto a disc for polishing.
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching! New videos to be posted soon so give us a follow!
I don't recommend doing anything in this video (electrical wiring combined with water) unless you are a professional. You should really use a cgfi outlet for safeties sake such as those in bathrooms or near a kitchen sink with the reset button, so that it'll turn off if theres any short or problems.
